News: HYROX: Conquering the Ultimate Fitness Race

Building Strength Through Movement.

The HYROX adaptive division is a grueling test of endurance, power, and mental resilience—and our ACTIVE VI athletes proved they are more than ready for the challenge. Watch how VI athletes Pei Pei, BK, and Dennard took on the ultimate fitness race, supported by their dedicated sight-guides.

The journey to the finish line is rarely a straight path. In April 2026, we saw incredible moments of doubt transformed into triumph, as our athletes pushed through the urge to back out, relying on deep trust and sheer willpower to complete the course. Dennard, in particular, showcased phenomenal power and confidence, securing a spectacular finish in his division. You can view Dennard’s official race results here.

This builds on a legacy of VI representation at HYROX, following an inspiring 2025 performance where Dennard teamed up with fellow VI athlete Royston for the Men’s Doubles.

These races are more than just competitions; they are a testament to what is possible when inclusive fitness meets unstoppable determination.

Podcast Episode 5: Conquering Hyrox: Finding Strength and Moving Beyond Vision.

Ever wondered how a person with visual impairment (PVI) tackles a brutal, high-intensity fitness race like HYROX—where athletes face massive 152-kilogram sled pushes, heavy kettlebells, and 100 blind wall ball shots thrown at a 9-foot target amidst deafening arena crowds?

In ACTIVE VI Podcast Episode 5: Conquering Hyrox, VI athletes Dennard and Pei Pei pull back the curtain on what it truly takes to compete. They share the raw reality of navigating intense sensory chaos without being able to see the target, the critical importance of absolute trust in their volunteer sight-guides (who act as literal eyes on the course), and how they transformed moments of doubt into triumphant finishes.

Tune in to discover how these athletes push past perceived physical limitations, why Dennard treated a grueling 10-kilometre run like a “recovery day,” and how inclusive fitness is building an unstoppable community.

These races are more than just competitions; they are a testament to what is possible when inclusive fitness meets unstoppable determination.
